Moshe Engelberg is the most senior and experienced dog trainer in Israel. He learnt his profession in South Africa, where he was born in 1941. When he made aliyah at the end of the 1960s he became a pioneer in all aspects of the fledgling dog world in Israel. Moshe was the first to put dogs through the prestigious ‘Schutzhund’ examination, he was foremost in preparing dogs for military operations in the IDF and in training guide dogs for the blind and was one of the founders of the Israel Kennel Club and the Israeli Dog Training Club.

You have probably come across his work: Moshe trained ‘Tulip’ for the TV show ‘Figures of Eight’ and Azit in the movie ‘Azit, the paratroopers’ dog’ and turned ‘Shtecker’ into the trade mark of the Israel Electric Company. Moshe changed ‘Chetz’, a dog very dear to his heart, from an aggressive and disobedient animal into an outstanding actor in the movie ‘Taking the dog out” on the Hot channel.

Moshe’s knowledge and experience have been directed to theoretical teaching as well, and for many years he has been a guest lecturer at the veterinary faculty of the Hebrew University.
Moshe’s sensitivity to the smallest needs of our four legged friends is what has made the holiday centre he built in Kfar Truman – Uncle Moshe’s Farm – one of the most successful of its kind. He set the highest standards in the branch when he insisted on the right of dogs to holiday in roomy suites, surrounded by huge lawns, and with the best quality food and carefully selected staff.

I have been an avid dog lover all my life. Being brought up on Uncle Moshe’s Farm, and as the son of a dog trainer, gave me a wonderful childhood and stamped in me forever my deep love for dogs. From my point of view the farm is both work place and home and I see our role here as making the farm a second home for your dog.

Itai is an experienced professional dog trainer who emigrated from France in 2012 and is acknowledged as one of Israel’s leading dog trainers. Itai has introduced the Mondioring dog sport to Israel, which is probably the most difficult and challenging dog sport. In 2018 he participated in the World Championship and was placed third in the world. Itai offers basic and advanced obedience training as well as solving various behaviour problems.

One of our most senior staff members at Uncle Moshe’s Farm. Edith joined the farm in 2011, she has studied animal therapy and dog training and today is one of the managers of the farm. At home she has two children, Uriah and Tamar and two four footed friends, Buba and Grey.

Michael immigrated to Israel from Belgium at the age of 18. He joined the team at Uncle Moshe’s Farm in April 2017. He adopted a dog and as a result volunteered to work at a dog shelter which he did for over five years. In the past Michael also worked with horses but his real love is for dogs. Today Michael serves as professional coordinator at the farm. Michael has two sons, Will and Yinon.

Daniel joined the team in May 2012. She grew up in Kfar Truman surrounded by many different animals. At home she has two dogs, Guri and Chilli. Lately, together with working with dogs she has begun teaching art at a high school.

Eyal joined the team in April 2017. He is a certified veterinary assistant as well as learning animal therapy and dog training. In addition to taking care of the dogs Eyal is our address for all creative and technical solutions. He has a dog, Meshi and is father to three children, Oron, Lia and Tohar.

Gal joined the staff in May 2018. She came to us from Kibbutz Givat Brenner. Gal has always loved animals and always had dogs at home. She has a sweet dog, Sol, and plans to add more. Gal sees her future in the world of dogs.

Shir joined the far min the summer of 2018. She served in the Air Force dog unit, both as a care giver and as a trainer. Shir also works as a veterinary assistant and sees her future as a veterinary doctor. She has two dogs, Vanil and Malka and a cat named Mary.
